A 404 error means the browser reached your website, but that exact address did not match a published page.
Before you begin #
- Copy the exact URL that shows the 404.
Steps #
- Confirm the URL spelling, including dashes and trailing paths.
- Open the page from the website menu, if it still appears there.
- Search Pages in WordPress for the expected title and confirm it is published.
- Check whether the page was renamed, moved, or replaced by a newer page.
- Do not change permalink settings yourself.
- If the page should exist and still 404s, submit a ticket at Submit Ticket.
Expected result #
You either find the correct published URL or give FoxDev enough detail to repair redirects or permalinks safely.
If the problem continues #
- Avoid creating duplicate pages with the same title unless FoxDev asks you to.
- Do not install random redirection plugins during an active issue.
