Replacing an image is usually safe when you update the media on the correct page and confirm the live result.
Before you begin #
- Have the replacement image ready on your computer.
- Prefer optimized JPG, PNG, or WebP files that are large enough for the layout without being unnecessarily heavy.
Steps #
- Open the page or post that shows the image.
- Select the image in the editor or page builder.
- Replace or upload the new file.
- Set or update alt text that describes the image for accessibility.
- Check whether the layout crops or stretches the image.
- Preview on desktop and mobile if your editor supports it.
- Update or publish the page, then view the public URL.
- If the old image still appears publicly, clear browser cache or open a private window before contacting FoxDev.
Expected result #
The live page shows the new image at a usable quality without broken layout.
If the problem continues #
- You may be editing a template, reusable block, or a different page than the one visitors see.
- Keep the original file until FoxDev confirms the replacement is correct.
- Do not edit theme PHP files to force an image change.
