How to log in to WordPress safely

1 min read

Safe WordPress login habits reduce lockouts, phishing risk, and accidental shared-password problems.

Before you begin #

  • Use the admin URL FoxDev provided for your site.
  • Prefer a password manager over remembering passwords.

Steps #

  1. Open the correct /wp-admin/ or /wp-login.php address for your website.
  2. Confirm the browser address bar shows your real domain before typing credentials.
  3. Sign in with your own user account, not a shared generic administrator login.
  4. Save the login in your password manager.
  5. Sign out on shared or public computers.

Expected result #

You reach the WordPress dashboard from a trusted login page using your personal account.

If the problem continues #

  • Stop after repeated lockouts and contact FoxDev. Security tools may be blocking the attempts.
  • Do not click login links from unexpected emails.

Contact FoxDev Studio #

Submit a support request at Submit Ticket. Email messages do not automatically create Support Center tickets.

Include:

  • The affected website address
  • The exact page address, if relevant
  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened
  • The date and approximate time
  • Screenshots or a short screen recording
  • Browser and device
  • Any visible error message
  • How many failed attempts you saw before contacting support

Do not include passwords, API keys, payment-card details, or other secrets in ticket fields or email. FoxDev Studio will provide a secure method when access is required.
